What is an Astrologer?

Astrology is a faith-based system of divination that uses the position of the planets, stars, and constellations to predict events in your life. It is based on the belief that the time and date of your birth influence your personality, environment, and relationships, according to the alignment of astronomical bodies. Astrology has been practiced since at least 1800 BCE, and it was a prominent part of the Old Babylonian period. It later developed into Hindu jyotisha (astrology), Chinese horoscopes, and Hellenistic astrology after 332 BCE, which mixed Babylonian astrology with Egyptian decan astrology in Alexandria.

In fiction, an astrologer is a character that claims to see the past, present and future based on the movement of celestial bodies. They are often portrayed as good guys or neutral characters, and occasionally even evil ones. They are a type of Fortune Teller, but they use star charts and zodiacs rather than Tarot cards or a Crystal Ball.

Astronomy is a scientific study of everything outside the Earth’s atmosphere, including the planets, their positions, asteroids, galaxies, and other objects, as well as the laws that govern them. Astronomy is based on research and observation.

Astrology is a pseudoscience, but it has continued to exist alongside mainstream science until Isaac Newton showed that the same physical principles that make an apple fall from a tree apply to the motion of celestial bodies as well. Despite the fact that most astrophysicists consider astrology to be pseudoscience, astrologers still remain popular.
